The first 14 years of Tania’s career was in the food retail sector where she joined her local Safeway store in Annan.
During this time the store was taken over by Somerfield, Morrisons and finally Co-op Food.
As well as the takeovers which each time brought changes, Tania moved around the different departments working extensively in all the different areas of the business. The cash office, banking, price changes, offers, promotions, stock control and ordering. Tania worked her way up from Checkout Assistant to Team Leader.
In 2014 Tania and her partner Kevin had their baby daughter, Willow. Tania became a full-time Mum and they both embraced parenting whole heartedly and in 2016 got married.
Tania thoroughly enjoyed 7 years as a full time Mum along with every aspect of this time in her life, but most importantly watching Willow growing up.
In January 2022, there was an opportunity for Tania to come back to work, joining her husband Kevin and her brother Stephen at DFS Caskets.
Initially her role was to archive the statutory paperwork that needed to be kept and to dispense with the rest which in itself was a huge undertaking.
Tania was responsible for streamlining the administrative function of the company which naturally led into new systems for invoicing, sales orders and more recently purchasing.
Tania is also an important and integral part of the team with customer interaction.
Kevin and Tania’s daughter Willow will be 10 in November, and both would fully agree that time is flying by in both their work life and home life.
