Penny’s career has predominantly been spent working in the NHS and medical services.
From 1995, Penny trained and worked as a registered nurse on various wards
looking after patients with all sorts of different health conditions. From the very
beginnings of her career, Penny has been and continues to be totally committed to
the welfare of people she encounters daily. This is not only something she feels very
strongly about but is a huge part of her caring personality as well.
In 2000, Penny moved off the hospital wards and started working for the NHS in an
administrative role streamlining and summarising patients’ medical records. Her
nursing experience gave her a much deeper understanding of the key information
along with medications and prescriptions that needed to be included on a medical record.
Between 2000 and 2022, Penny became extremely successful in this area of work
and was seconded to process medical records from all walks of life including vitally
important assignments in top security prisons.
In 2018, Penny trained alongside her work to achieve two NVQ’s (level 2). Both were
in ‘Business and Administration’ and both have helped her enormously in her career
going forward. She has also completed a City and Guilds (level 1) in IT, English and Maths.
In 2022, Penny relocated to Scotland to be with her husband David soon after he
became General Manager at DFS Caskets.
Penny now works 2 days a week for NHS Scotland in medical records along with 3
days a week at DFS Caskets. Her years of experience in the data sector is put to
great use at DFS Caskets setting up customer records on our customer database as
well as performing all aspects of sales administration within the office team.
